Register Online Now For 2007 USBC Youth Open Championships

New tournament features singles, doubles and four-player team competition

GREENDALE, Wis. -- Online reservations are now being accepted for the 2007 United States Bowling Congress Youth Open Championships, which will debut at AMF Thruway Lanes in suburban Buffalo, N.Y., on July 13-21, 2007 (unless extended).

All USBC Youth members can compete at the USBC Youth Open Championships -- there is no need to qualify. Bowlers will take part in singles, doubles and four-player team competition and vie for scholarships and national titles.

The inaugural event will be conducted alongside the USBC Junior Gold Championships and Pepsi USBC Youth Championships. Individuals taking part in the Junior Gold or Pepsi events will also be eligible to compete in the USBC Youth Open Championships.

The tournament will be broken into four average divisions (129 and below, 130-159, 160-189 and 190 and above) and will be based on actual pinfall. One out of every four entrants in team, doubles and singles will receive scholarships, while one in six will receive scholarships in all-events.

To register online, visit the USBC Youth Open Championships page located in the Youth section of bowl.com. A minimum $100 deposit from a major credit card (Visa or MasterCard) is required to hold a four-player team reservation; full payment is due by April 1. Reservations made after that date must be paid in full at the time of registration.

Reservations also may be made by calling (800) 514-BOWL, ext. 3153 or by filling out an entry form printed from the USBC Youth Open Championships Web page and mailing it with at least the minimum deposit to USBC Youth Open Championships, 5301 S. 76th St., Greendale, WI 53129.

Online reservations close June 1, while mail and phone reservations close July 2. However, on-site reservations will be accepted as space permits.

USBC Youth
United States Bowling Congress Youth membership offers fun, exciting opportunities for young people to learn a sport they can enjoy for a lifetime, improve their skills, develop teamwork and leadership abilities, and try for their part of more than $6 million in scholarships awarded to youth bowlers every year. Organized competition through leagues and tournaments, awards recognition, standardized playing rules, coaching, participation at the league level of the Pepsi USBC Youth Championships, scholarship opportunities and a quarterly magazine -- US Youth Bowler -- are just a sampling of the benefits USBC Youth members enjoy.

USBC officially launched Jan. 1, 2005, as an organization serving nearly three million adult and youth bowlers in the United States. It resulted from the merger of the American Bowling Congress, Women's International Bowling Congress, Young American Bowling Alliance and USA Bowling.
