BWAA Past President Frank Kietz dies at age 91

BWAA lost another of its oldest friends and most dedicated members when Frank Kietz died April 2 in Lake Forest, Calif.

Kietz, the 2005 Mort Luby Sr. Hall of Fame Award winner and 1984 president, was 91. He was a key contributor to the California Bowling News for years. He suffered a heart attack April 2 and died from a blood clot April 3, according to old friend Ray Rosenbaum.

“Frank was one of the nicest and most dedicated bowling people BWAA has ever had,” said BWAA executive director Steve James. “Just a week ago he called to apologize for probably not being able to attend our convention in Orlando…though he was still working on it. He was still bowling regularly and tossed some pretty high scores lately, even though they were 9-pin no taps.”

Additional details will be posted on BWAA's web site next week.
