GREENDALE, Wis. - Election season is upon us. But this race is not for the White House.
Bowlers Journal International magazine and the United States Bowling Congress are looking for the 100 top bowling coaches and invite the public to cast ballots.
With the help of the USBC Coaching program, Bowlers Journal International magazine is conducting its annual global search for the 100 top active coaches who make significant contributions to the bowling community.
Once the list is compiled, it will receive extensive exposure on the Internet, and will also be the focus of a major feature story in BJI. USBC Coaching is assisting by promoting the search and circulating the application form.
A panel of judges - chosen by Bowlers Journal International and whose identities will remain confidential - has been selected to sort through the nomination forms and divide them by category. Three categories of coaches will be considered:
1. Youth coach
2. Collegiate/high school coach
3. Bowling center/pro shop/professional coach
To vote, visit bowl.com or bowlersjournal.com to download and complete the official application form. Completed forms may be e-mailed to BobJ@BowlersJournal.com, faxed to (312) 341-1469 or mailed to: Bob Johnson, Bowlers Journal International, 122 S. Michigan Ave., Suite 1506, Chicago, IL 60603.
The deadline to submit completed forms is Feb. 10, 2008. Only complete application forms will be accepted. Bowling coaches are encouraged to apply themselves or distribute forms to coaches they believe are worthy of recognition.
United States Bowling Congress
The United States Bowling Congress, as the national governing body, ensures the integrity and protects the future of the sport, provides programs and services to more than 2.6 million adult and youth members and enhances the bowling experience.
